There have been some concerns that a golfer playing the blue
tees on the first hole could accidently hit someone in the Bistro with their
ball. In order to prevent that from happening, there were two possible solutions: First was to move the blue tee forward and eliminate
the back tee. Golfers did not like the idea of shortening the golf course, even
by a few yards. The other solution was to put up some short fences, hidden from
view by some low shrubbery. The fences would stop any ball from hitting someone
in the Bistro. The problem with doing this was that it would block the pro shop’s
view of players coming down the 9th fairway. The final solution was
to lower the blue tee so that the fences and shrubs would be no higher than the
blue tee is now.
